The Treatment Action Campaign says Ekurhuleni hospitals are suffering from major staff shortages – more so than other facilities in the province.
Dozens of TAC members marched to the mayoral offices in Germiston on Thursday to hand over a memorandum for better health services.

The TAC’s Nokhwezi Hoboyi says patients on the East Rand are not being properly treated.

“There are serious shortages within the Health Department in Ekurhuleni for example a clinic in extension 28 that has a staff of five nurses and attend to more than 300 patients on a daily basis,” Hoboyi says.
