Resource type: News

The Atlantic Philanthropies |

We were very saddened to learn of the passing of Sharon B. King on 21 October 2014.

Sharon, a recognised leader in philanthropy, served as the Director of the Ageing Programme for The Atlantic Philanthropies for several years beginning in 2010, leading the foundation’s grantmaking efforts to address the health care and economic security of older adults.

“While Sharon was with Atlantic for a relatively short period of time she left a lasting impact through her deep commitment to improving the lives of disadvantaged older adults,” said Martin O’Brien, Atlantic’s Senior Vice President for Programmes.

The condolences of the entire staff and Board of Atlantic go out to Sharon’s daughter Martha and to her wider family and friends.
