Orla O’Hanlon Associate Program Executive

Orla O’Hanlon was Associate Program Executive for the Republic of Ireland (ROI) at The Atlantic Philanthropies through February 2018. She was based in Dublin.

Ms. O’Hanlon managed a significant portfolio of the foundation’s grants in the areas of aging, palliative care, children and youth, and human rights; monitored grants to ensure compliance with all financial, legal and other requirements; and ensured that all data appeared accurately and appropriately in internal reports and external records. Ms. O’Hanlon organized Atlantic’s Board meetings, global staff events and grantee convenings held in Ireland. During Atlantic’s final phase, she also served as a program resource for communications initiatives.

She began her tenure at Atlantic in 2004, working as the Aging Program Associate supporting all aging and palliative care grantmaking in ROI. In 2011, Ms. O’Hanlon became the Program Associate working in the Country Director’s office, where she was responsible for managing the ROI team’s grant review and approval process and supported the development and ongoing management of grants. In 2012, she coordinated inputs from Dublin-based program staff and external sources for the foundation’s final program strategic review.

Prior to joining Atlantic, Ms O’Hanlon was Operations Manager at Euroweb Limited in Dublin, where she was responsible for the delivery and coordination of British Telecom (ADSL) lines and installation of public access Internet kiosks in the Greater Manchester area.

Ms O’Hanlon earned a Diploma with Distinction in Business Studies and a First-class Honours Degree in Business Studies, both from University College Dublin. Her thesis topic was organizational downsizing.

She is currently undertaking a M.Sc. in Human Resource Strategies at Dublin City University.
