Carmen Rogers Deputy Chief Operating and Finance Officer

Carmen Marie Rogers is the Deputy Chief Operating and Finance Officer for The Atlantic Philanthropies. She is based in the New York office.

Ms. Rogers serves in a key strategic advisory role to both the Chief Operating Officer and the Chief Financial Officer and is the main content manager to these functions. She develops, analyzes and maintains organizational information and data related to all internal operation functions, including finance (budgeting and tax preparation), human resources, grants management, and office space. She also leads the global human resources team. In 2018 she successfully managed the moving of the NYC office.

She joined the foundation in 2011 as a Finance Executive, where she immediately began work developing and maintaining Atlantic’s operations and grants budgets. Her data analysis skills have been utilized to monitor the migration of grants data to the Fluxx grants management system and to ensure data integrity in all foundation publications. As the foundation has worked to complete its grantmaking and close its doors, her breadth of knowledge and skills in various finance and operations capacities have been drawn on as she takes on more roles and responsibilities.

Prior to Atlantic, Ms. Rogers was the Director of Special Initiatives and Human Resources at the Fund for the City of New York.  Her professional career has focused on creating operations and financial tools that improve the systems and efficiencies of nonprofits and foundations in New York City and Los Angeles.

Ms. Rogers earned a B.A. with honors in public administration from Miami University and a Master of Public Policy degree from the University of Southern California.  She is ABD in the doctorate program at New York University’s Robert F. Wagner School of Public Service where she was also an Adjunct Professor and guest lecturer of nonprofit financial management, arts and culture policy, and introduction to public service courses.
