Bruce S. Trachtenberg Executive Producer and Editor

Bruce S. Trachtenberg is Executive Producer and Editor for The Atlantic Philanthropies. He is based in the New York office.

Mr. Trachtenberg is responsible for helping produce and disseminate Atlantic’s final phase print, video and web-based communications, in particular reports on the foundation’s distinctive approaches to philanthropy and its experiences in the specific countries and regions in which it has invested, as it prepares to conclude its operations prior to 2020.

Before coming to Atlantic, Mr. Trachtenberg served from 2006-2014 as Executive Director of The Communications Network, a national nonprofit that promotes the strategic use of communications to help philanthropic organisations advance their missions. During his time at the Network, he grew membership from 75 to over 600.

In earlier years, he served as Director of Communications for the Edna McConnell Clark Foundation and The Wallace Foundation. During his career, he also held a number of communications and management positions at for-profit companies, including Worth.Com, Reader’s Digest and IBM. Mr. Trachtenberg began his career as a general assignment and sports reporter with The Oregonian in Portland.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in history from Portland State University.
