Abigail Westbrook Program Executive, Strategic Grant Initiatives

Abigail Westbrook is the Program Executive for Strategic Grant Initiatives in the Office of the President and Chief Executive Officer at The Atlantic Philanthropies. She is based in the New York office.

Ms. Westbrook is a key member of the President’s team. Leading the foundation’s strategic grant initiatives, she manages a diverse portfolio of funding areas, including the foundation’s largest grant of $350 million to Cornell NYC Tech.

Prior to joining Atlantic in 2011, Ms. Westbrook worked at Forsyth Street Advisors, an advisory firm focused on affordable housing development in New York City. At Forsyth, she managed the daily operations of the New York City Acquisition Fund, a $150 million public-private affordable housing loan fund. Ms. Westbrook began her career as a legal advocate at the Homeless Advocacy Project in San Francisco where she represented hundreds of homeless and at-risk adults to secure benefits, housing and social services.

Ms. Westbrook currently serves as the Board Chair for Neighbors Together, an emergency food and social service organization serving the Brownsville, Ocean Hill and Bedford-Stuyvesant neighborhoods of Brooklyn.

She is a proud native of Cleveland, Ohio, and holds a B.A. in political science and women’s studies from Marquette University and a master’s degree in public administration from New York University.
