Director, Global Finance
David Walsh is the Director of Global Finance for The Atlantic Philanthropies. He is based in New York.
Mr. Walsh has primary responsibility for the budgeting and planning processes and works with senior management on its overall plan for allocating Atlantic’s resources over its remaining life. He joined Atlantic in 1995 as Vice President of General Atlantic Corporation, a holder of operating investments of the foundation, where Mr. Walsh was responsible for the finance, tax and accounting functions. Over the years, he has served in various senior roles on the Finance team and contributed to a number of operations areas, including supervising Atlantic’s Grants Management and Office Services functions.
Mr. Walsh started his career with Arthur Andersen & Co. where, as a Tax Consulting Manager, he was responsible for providing a full range of tax consulting and accounting services to a diverse base of corporate and partnership clients. He qualified as a certified public accountant in 1987. Mr. Walsh also served as Vice President – Finance for Triumph Resources Corporation, an oil and gas investment firm.
He earned a BBA degree from the College of William and Mary and an MBA in International Finance from New York University’s Stern School of Business.
