Civil partnership is not the same as marriage. It is different in many ways. Although civil partnership does offer some rights and protections, it is not equality and it does not extend all the same rights to same sex couples as marriage would, including rights in relation to children and other critical rights. Rory’s Story, a new short film by Marriage Equality and FailSafe Films, shares his story and how the Civil Partnership Act has affected his family.
Marriage Equality is asking for help to spread the message that in Ireland same sex couples, families and children are being discriminated against because of their sexuality or the sexuality of their parents.
