Shared Education Researcher Awarded Prestigious UNESCO Chair

Queens UniversityProfessor Joanne Hughes will be awarded a prestigious UNESCO Chair in ‘Globalizing a Shared Education Model for Improving Relations in Divided Societies’.

One of UNESCO’s major roles in the UN system is to build capacity in developing countries and regions emerging from conflict.

The Chair will support a programme of research within the Centre for Shared Education that can inform and influence the global development agenda for education, and promote dialogue at the highest level internationally on the contribution that shared education can make to facilitating inter-cultural dialogue and peacebuilding in divided societies.
