Older & Bolder wins at the 2008 Awards for Excellence in Public Relations

Resource type: News

The 15th annual Awards for Excellence in Public Relations was hosted by Mansion House (Dublin) on Thursday, 26th June 2008. There were 13 categories, of which Older & Bolder, an Atlantic grantee, won the category for Public Information, described as campaigns created to improve awareness or generate support among the general public or specific interest groups. These may be instigated by companies, government departments, local authorities, state bodies or special interest groups. Older & Bolder is a campaign by Montague Communications to create a stronger, more sustainable ageing sector with increased collaboration and a unified voice influencing public attitudes and challenging stereotypes. These awards, put on by the Public Relations Consultants Association (Ireland), illustrate all that is best in the industry, documenting as they do the real value of professional communications. Being shortlisted for an award, or even better winning one, is a clear signal to clients and to peers that an organisation takes pride in its work and in the results it produces. Either way, subjecting campaigns or projects to independent benchmarking, assessment and judgment is in everyone’s interests as it aids learning and benefits understanding throughout the PR community.
