Through our Reconciliation & Human Rights Programme, we seek to bring about stable, peaceful, sustainable societies in which disadvantaged and vulnerable people are guaranteed full access to their rights. We focus on these issues in Northern Ireland, the Republic of Ireland, South Africa and the United States.

Although we have distinct programme objectives for each targeted region, our general aims include:

  • addressing the legacies of violent conflict that prevent movement toward reconciliation, stability and the protection of human rights; and
  • ensuring access to justice and public services to enable disadvantaged and vulnerable people to access the rights, justice and services they are entitled to under the law.
