To support initiatives that teach faculty and students to use primary source material on the Web; to understand better the ways in which students learn, and especially how they develop higher order thinking and reasoning skills; and to create both a body of evidence and a set of intellectual tools that enhance the ability of faculty members to develop, examine, and improve their teaching.
