Cummings V. Zuill

CUMMINGS V. ZUILL has been a Director of Atlantic since 1986, and has been involved with Atlantic since the early days of its establishment in Bermuda. He chairs its Audit Committee.

Mr. Zuill retired as Senior Vice President, Executive Management, of the Bank of Bermuda and for 19 years was a Director of The Bermuda Telephone Company Limited.   His interests include diversity issues and programmes, and he was a founding Director of the Diversity Institute of Bermuda.

He was the founding Chairman of The Centre on Philanthropy and continues to serve as a Director Emeritus.  Mr. Zuill is active in Bermuda’s nonprofit sector and has served as a Bermuda Charity Commissioner for many years.  He is also an independent director of a small number of family foundations and companies.

Her Majesty the Queen Elizabeth II appointed him a Member of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (MBE) in the New Year Honours List of December 2007 for his services to charitable interests in Bermuda. Other recognition includes the establishment by Atlantic of the Cummings V. Zuill Scholarship endowment in honour of his long Board service. The scholarship benefits individuals pursuing studies in nonprofit management, public policy, social entrepreneurship or other areas related to sustaining and supporting Bermuda’s community.

Mr. Zuill earned a B.A. from Trinity College, Hartford, Connecticut.
