Deborah Phillips

Deborah R. Phillips joined The Atlantic Philanthropies as Senior Vice President in December 2002 and was made Executive Vice President in September 2007. Dr. Phillips is based in New York and oversees the global Ageing Programme, Strategic Learning and Evaluation, and the Group Services functions including Communications, Finance, Human Resources, Information Technology, and Legal.

Prior to Atlantic, Dr. Phillips served for three years as Managing Director at The Capital Markets Company, where she was responsible for the global consulting practice’s operations in North America.

Prior to this, Dr. Phillips spent twelve years at the Bankers Trust Corporation in several capacities including Managing Director of Human Resources and Director of Global Corporate Compensation and Benefits. As Managing Director of Human Resources there, she was responsible for the development and implementation of strategic human resources plans.

Dr. Phillips worked at Booz, Allen & Hamilton, Inc while in graduate school and ultimately became Director of Planning and Administration, responsible for partner compensation planning and administration.She worked for the City of New Haven for three years as a Project Director assessing methods for implementing the precursor to the US Americans with Disabilities Act among organizations serving the disabled, the City Government, and the local Chamber of Commerce.

Dr. Phillips received her Ph.D. in Organization Planning and Analysis from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Cambridge, Massachusetts, and her Bachelor’s degree from Goucher College.
