Colin McCrea is Senior Vice President, Programmes at The Atlantic Philanthropies. Mr. McCrea is based in the Dublin office and oversees the global Population Health Programme as well as the global Reconciliation & Human Rights Programme. He is Atlantic’s liaison with senior government officials in Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland. Mr. McCrea joined The Atlantic Philanthropies – Ireland (formerly Tara Consultants Ltd.) in 1996 and managed the higher education grants portfolio until 2002.
Prior to working with The Atlantic Philanthropies, Mr. McCrea spent most of his career with the Irish Trade Board, an organisation which promotes trade through its worldwide offices. He joined in 1971 and held numerous positions within the Trade Board including two periods working in Germany and the management of ten of the Board’s overseas offices. In 1989, Mr. McCrea joined the Trade Board’s senior management team as Assistant Chief Executive. In 1994 he was appointed as the adviser to the cabinet minister in the Irish government responsible for transport, energy and communications.
Mr. McCrea completed a Bachelor's degree in Commerce from University College Dublin in 1969.
