Head of Advocacy and Health Equity Programmes
Sara Kay was Head of Advocacy and Health Equity Programmes at The Atlantic Philanthropies. She was responsible for developing and implementing U.S. health equity and advocacy investments during Atlantic’s final phase of grantmaking and led the foundation’s efforts to improve health care payment and delivery systems for low-income and vulnerable populations.
Prior to Atlantic, Ms. Kay was Director of the Health Program at the Nathan Cummings Foundation where she was part of the leadership team and oversaw a grants portfolio focused on health access, environmental health, and corporate and government accountability. She has served in senior roles in the Office of the New York City Comptroller, including as Director of Policy Management and Senior Counsel. She also taught in the Federal Litigation Clinic at Brooklyn Law School, served as Policy Director for the New York e-Health Collaborative and was a corporate litigator at LeBoeuf, Lamb, Greene & MacRae.
Ms. Kay earned a B.A. from the University of Connecticut and a J.D. from New York University.
