Maryann Jacob Macias Director of Legacy Grant Monitoring

Maryann Jacob Macias is Director of Legacy Grant Monitoring in the United States for The Atlantic Philanthropies. She is based in the New York office.

Ms. Macias manages the foundation’s existing aging and health equity grants, and creates content that vividly illustrates Atlantic’s investments. As Program Associate, she managed the U.S. team’s grant review and approval process, and supported development and ongoing management of aging and cross-program grants.

Prior to joining Atlantic, Ms. Macias spent seven years as the Development Manager at the Feminist Press at City University of New York, an activist publisher and nonprofit organization focusing on gender equity and social justice. Before joining Feminist Press, she was a Development and Program Officer organizing literary outreach programs in New York City public schools and cultural institutions nationwide through positions at the Poetry Society of America and the National Book Awards.

Ms. Macias serves on the advisory board of the Pregnancy Loss Support Program of the National Council of Jewish Women’s NY/NJ chapter. She holds a B.A. in English from the City College of New York, an M.F.A. in creative writing from Pine Manor College, certifications in publishing and professional writing from the City College of New York, and a certification of professional achievement in human rights from Columbia University’s School of Professional Studies.
