Viet Nam Exit Grants

From 1999 to 2003, through our Higher Education Programme, we focused on strengthening higher education opportunities in Viet Nam. Through this programme, Atlantic issued a series of grants to various nonprofit organisations which used the funding to:

  • build and equip modern libraries known as “Learning Resource Centres” (LRCs) at four key regional universities;
  • position each LRC as a sustainable and pivotal centre for student-initiated, information-driven learning;
  • develop an infrastructure of partnerships and coalitions to strengthen print and electronic resources; and
  • establish new information-management capacity through support for national library standards, English-language skill building and the training of LRC staff.

Starting in 2004, when we began implementation of our current programmes, we initiated a series of exit grants to facilitate the completion of our higher education work in Viet Nam.

Those exit grants continue to this day and represent our continued committment to seeing the work of these grantees completed. We are very proud of the accomplishments of our Higher Education Programme grantees in Viet Nam.
